I used to think the title “high-tech island” meant that Taiwan was advanced in every aspect, but I doubt this is accurate now that I’m aware of how much we’ve fallen behind in educational technology, how unpopular Lixus is, how unpopular Fiber-optic communication is, etc. Just because Taiwan manufactures computers doesn’t mean it’s high tech. The title is an exaggeration.
以前以為”科技之島”意為電腦相關全方位都先進. 生產電腦的能力不等於高科技, 能接受並普及才稱得上吧.例如:1. 各家網路業者只限用一家纜路且價位不低 2,申請手續不簡易還綁約, 3. 網路教學裏的新觀念難推廣 4. 幾乎沒人用 Linux….. 怎麼敢叫這個名字.
